Individual Talk Therapy

Talk therapy sessions are usually 55 minutes long and are held either in the office or virtually. It will take several sessions to learn about your hopes for therapy and your background and build a trusting relationship. We recommend that you start weekly but are flexible in finding a schedule that works best for you. We will discuss and assess this during our mutual consultation fit. We intend to guide you to confidence, clarity, and resourcefulness.

We also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) sessions for different life experiences and handling trauma. Click here to learn more.

Pathway Journeys

Our journey through life leads us to paths that can be rewarding and challenging, and sometimes it can lead us to paths we're unprepared for. The roadblocks we encounter may be difficult to walk through alone, but our team is excited to help! Our services may be right for you if you identify with any of the following profiles.

  • a woman sits on a couch with her head on her knees

"Unfulfilled" Woman

  • You are the modern woman who has proved that you can HAVE IT ALL…but if you were honest with yourself, all this makes you unhappy and unfulfilled. You chose this life because this was what society and everyone else told you you should do. You followed the straight and narrow path even though you had hopes and dreams but were discouraged as it was unconventional.

  • Your path would have challenged the status quo and society's expectations of you as a woman. So you settled for the life everyone else envisioned by checking all the boxes of society's expectations.

  • You feel trapped. When you're feeling miserable, stressed, and unsatisfied, you tell yourself you should be grateful for all the external things in your life. Taking accountability is terrifying because being complacent and comfortable is easier than taking the following steps. You recognize that you need to work on your internal self, but you have let that part of yourself go for so long that you no longer know who you are.

  • Let's work together so you can find your path again to live the life you want, not what society and others have defined for you.

"Left behind" Woman

  • You compare yourself to others and start asking why? Why does everyone else seem to have it all? Your friends and everyone around you seem to be checking the boxes of "success" quicker than you. You feel bad about yourself and your situation. You notice that you start avoiding events and gatherings where others will question and judge.

  • You start doubting yourself, your worth, and your value because, as a woman, you were told you had a specific path to follow all your life. You're honest with yourself and refuse to settle as you have hopes and dreams.

  • Having the strength to step away from everyone's expectations of you will take work. Taking ownership of your life and deciding your path may seem daunting.

  • Our role as your mental health therapist will challenge and empower you to listen to yourself. Let us collaborate so you can identify the boxes to check off as you choose your path.

Grief & Loss

  • You are still filled with grief, anger, regret, and anguish. You realize that a certain amount of time has passed, and people tell you you should get over it. You are filled with guilt and shame at how things ended. Your lack of words and actions haunt you and prevent you from moving on with your life.

  • You never had a chance to process the loss because you threw yourself into work and other distractions to keep you busy. You thought that by doing that, all the feelings you felt would gradually go away. You find yourself struggling to understand your emotions that seem to come up at the most unexpected times in your daily life.

  • Disenfranchised grief. This type of grief includes job loss, infertility, family abandonment or alienation, broken relationships, divorce, loss of an animal companion, relocation, psychosocial loss, illness, and anticipatory grief.

  • You find yourself stuck and unable to move forward. Allow us to work with you to address your grief and loss by validating how you feel and how we can hopefully help you find peace and contentment.
